Dr. Massios is a native of Rochester, New York. He joined the Blue Ridge Surgery Center medical staff in February 2005 and specializes in comprehensive Ophthalmology. His expertise includes cataract, ophthalmic and oculoplastic surgery. Dr. Massios graduated from The University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, with a degree in Chemistry. He received his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He completed his Internship in General Surgery at Keesler USAF Medical Center at Keesler AFB MS and went on to complete his Ophthalmology Residency at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio.
Dr. Massios completed a distinguished 13-year Air Force career as Chief, Department of Ophthalmology at Eglin AFB Regional Hospital in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. He was a USAF flight surgeon and night vision instructor and was hand-picked by the Surgeon General to be a member of the USAF mobile ophthalmic surgery team.
Dr. Massios is Board Certified in Ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has received numerous honors and appointments throughout his distinguished military and medical career. Dr. Massios is also a fellow in both the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also a Member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the Society of Military Ophthalmologists.
Dr. Massios maintains hospital privileges at Oconee Memorial Hospital and Palmetto Health Baptist-Easley, as well as an office in Seneca and Easley.
