A native of Tampa, Florida, Dr. McCallum joined Blue Ridge Orthopedics in 1995. He graduated magna cum laude from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. He earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine and was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. McCallum completed a Residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, as well as an Orthopedic Sports Medicine & Arthroscopy Fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham.
Dr. McCallum serves as team physician for the Clemson University baseball team and all of Daniel High School. He also provides medical coverage for athletic events at Anderson University & Southern Wesleyan University.
Dr. McCallum is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery with a certificate of additional qualification in Sports Medicine. He is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, the South Carolina Medical Association and the American College of Sports Medicine.
Dr. McCallum’s special areas of interest are minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle, in addition to total joint replacement and treatment of orthopedic trauma.
